BIOCLIMATIC BUILDING KAP

GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM OF THE BIOCLIMATE BUILDING OF THE CAPE

The upgrade of the air conditioning system of the bioclimatic building of the Center for Renewable Energy Sources KOPE in Pikermi Attica, with the use of AERMEC’s geothermal system, has been completed. The application was carried out within the framework of the European Horizon 2020 program with the aim of highlighting the efficiency of geothermal systems using geoexchangers and heat pumps.

For the implementation of the project, an AERMEC water-cooled heat pump type WRL071HX, Energy Class A++, cooling/heating capacity 17.7/ 21 kW, with a seasonal efficiency rating in cooling ESEER=4.23 and in heating SCOP=5.48 was installed. The pump was combined with an internal network of local fan coil air conditioning units, while for the implementation of the geothermal system a combination of vertical types of closed-circuit geoexchangers (single U-type exchanger, double 2U-type exchanger, coaxial, helix) was installed as well as a two-well system (absorption – discharge) ) high energy efficiency open circuit.
